Worship of God
"I am in every religion as the thread through a string of pearls. Wherever thou seest extraordinary holiness and extraordinary power raising and purifying humanity, know thou that I am there." - Sri Krishna, Bhagavadgita
As different streams having their sources in different places all mingle their water in the sea, so O Lord! different paths which men take through different tendencies various though they appear crooked or straight all lead to thee.
Thus it is that the Vedas proclaim not a dreadful combination of unforgiving laws, not an endless prison of cause and effect, but that at the head of all these laws, in and through every particle of matter and force, stands One "by whose command the wind blows, the fire burns, the clouds rain, and death stalks upon the earth."
And what is His nature?
He is everywhere, the pure and formless One, the Almighty and the All-merciful. "Thou art our father, Thou art our mother, Thou art our beloved friend, Thou art the source of all strength; give us strength. Thou art He that beareth the burdens of the universe; help me bear the little burden of this life." Thus sang the Rishis of the Vedas. And how to worship Him? Through love. "He is to be worshipped as the one beloved, dearer than everything in this and the next life."
It is good to love god for the hope of reward in this and the next life, but it is better to love god for love's sake.
"Ananyaschinthayanthomam ye jana paryupaasathe
Thesham nithyabhiyukthanam yogakshemam vahamyaham"
Punarapi jananam purnapi maranam
punarapi janani jathare shayanam
iha samsaare bahu dhusthare
krupaya paare paahi muraare

Love
A beautiful explanation by Swami Vivekananda ... on Love.
I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with a little water and held it before me, and said this: "You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love."
This was how I saw it: "As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.
This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love...they try to posses it, they demand, they expect... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, Love will retrieve from you. For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings. Give and don't expect. Advise, but don't order. Ask, but never demand. It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love.
To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."
Passing thought...
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away...

My First Blog
We are what our thoughts have made us....
Words are secondary. Thoughts have their impact, they travel far.
God is the ever active providence by whose powers systems after systems are being evolved out of chaos made to run for a time and then destroyed.
Thou art he who is the source of all strengths give us strength.
Thou art he who beareth the burdens of the universe, help me bear the little burden of this life.
